If you like to read books, you probably have a favorite author.
You might say it depends on the category; fiction, biography, romance, religious, sci-fi, etc. But you definitely have certain authors you know of better than others.
Some people say right off the bat that their favorite books are biographies because some how after reading about those true life stories they feel like (pay attention to the word “FEEL”) they know them. But in reality they know that’s not in fact true. You reading their life story does not equal to you knowing them personally!
This is the reality of many people when it comes to God: they read the Bible, some even know the Bible from Genesis to Revelation and they assume that they know God (the author) because of this.
This is what happened with Nicodemus; he was a Spiritual leader but his life never changed; he knew the Word but he did not know the Author (the writer of the Word; Jesus).
Look what Jesus told him:
That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ (John 3:6-7)
Don’t allow this to happen with you; to know the Word but not know the author. Get to know the author of the Bible (Jesus Christ). This will only happen when you read His word and put it into practice in your daily life.
This will cause a tremendous change from the inside out, and you won’t need to force yourself to change… it will happen naturally.
That’s why you should strive to know the author of the Bible!
May the God of the Bible bless you.
