Millions of people pray to God everyday, but not all of them see their prayers answered.
Why is that?
It is because many times, people are afraid of praying to God in a bold, sincere way. It has always been said that we must pray to God with respect and reverence – yes, this is very true. However, many people confuse this with shyness. Many people confuse this with meaning that they can not show God how they truly are in that moment.
God wants us to be sincere in our prayers! If you are going through a difficult moment in your marriage, will you pray to God with a big smile on your face? If you are struggling to pay your rent and have no food in your fridge to feed your family, will you sing praises to God? Of course not!
You know that you are facing serious problems in your life, and this makes you frustrated. You are angry because you believe in a Living God, but your life is in ruins and does not show the power of this great God. So, let God see your sincerity! Do not be afraid to express yourself and pray to Him with this righteous anger.
In the Bible, there were people who showed their sincerity to God when things were going wrong. What do you think God did? How do you think He reacted? Did He get angry with His people for crying out to Him? Let us see what the Word of God says,
“Gideon said to Him, “O my lord, if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all His miracles which our fathers told us about… ”
(Judges 6:13)
How dare he say this right? How dare he talk to the angel of the Lord this way?… Well, let us take a look at what God had to say back to Gideon,
“Then the Lord turned to him and said, “Go in this might of yours, and you shall save Israel from the hand of the Midianites.”
(Judges 6:14)
But Bishop, God was not angry with Gideon? No He was not! On the contrary, He saw the sincerity in Gideon’s righteous anger and frustration, and that is how He began to deliver Israel from their enemies.
This is the prayer God hears, the one that is made with sincerity.
May the God of the Bible bless you
