If you’ve ever been to a funeral, you will notice that no matter how much they dress the person up or how much make up they put on the person, it is evident that there is no life in them. They are stiff and lifeless. That’s why it is written,
For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. James 2:26
A body without spirit is dead. Just like when someone dies, the body is like a statue… completely lifeless. It’s the spirit that gives life to the body, so without it the body is just a corpse. In the same way, when a person does not have the Spirit of God, they are like a zombie. They may even be the life of the party in mans eyes, but before God they are lifeless.
And that is why many are filled with suffering and anguish.
If you want to be alive, you have to seek the Spirit of Life. You have to leave your old broken life behind and seek the life that He has to give. The Holy Spirit is the only solution and the only answer for those who are spiritually lifeless. Seek Him and you will be made alive. But it has to be a sincere and total surrender, not just empty words and promises.
