If you move into a brand new house, with new appliances, freshly painted, new carpet, new fixtures, etc. Everything in the house itself is new… But then, if you go and put a bunch of old furniture inside that house, will it feel like a new home? No. Will people who visit feel that that are inside of a new house? No. Will you feel proud of your new house? No. Why? Because of the old things inside, the house will feel old.
The same is with your life. If you belong to Christ, then your life should have new things. You should have happiness, a new marriage, a new sense of peace, a new confidence, a new sense of freedom, and so forth. Jesus brings a new life. As it is written;
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17
And this is what God wants for you. He does not want to see you suffer with the same old life and same old problems. He wants to give you ALL THINGS new. A totally new life. One that glorifies Him.
Therefore, stop accepting the old things like sadness, depression, sickness, addiction and anything else that brings sadness. Fight for a new life. And He will be glad to give it to you.
