“But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.” — 1 Corinthians 6:17
Being joined to the Lord is more than believing in Him or attending church. Our choices, attitudes, conversations, and the way we live should show that we belong to God.
Think about how the people we spend time with can influence us. If we spend time around people who constantly gossip, we may eventually find ourselves gossiping. But if we surround ourselves with people who encourage us to grow and make better choices, their influence can help us improve.
Being joined to the Lord means being separate from the world. Our relationship with God should influence how we live and the decisions we make each day. If we choose to be joined to the world, our lives will begin to reflect that instead. We cannot claim to belong to God while continually choosing to live in lies, deceit, grudges, and all that this world has to offer.
The question is not simply whether we believe in God, but whether the way we live shows that we belong to Him.
May the God of the Bible bless you!
