Say you had a choice between two doors. Behind Door Number One lies unimaginable peace, joy, and a life with no more sorrow, pain, or disappointment. However, the court requirements to enter that door were by no means easy. Behind Door Number Two is the complete opposite: an eternity of anguish and unbelievable pain. The only thing required to enter through this door is to do whatever you want, live how you want, and simply enjoy life and all this world has to offer, good or bad.
It seems like a very challenging decision, doesn’t it? This is a decision people struggle with every day. No matter their beliefs, daily we choose the kind of life we lead, and those decisions come with a price that eventually must be paid.
“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” Matthew 7:13-14
Unfortunately, many are opting to go through the white gate. After all, with the little time they have, they can live however they want. Consequently, when they enter through the narrow gate, those decisions are paid for with an eternity of destruction.
The narrow gate, however, is just as the Bible says: it’s difficult. Only one person at a time can fit through it. And there’s no space for anything else but that person: not money, family, friends, or prized possessions. It’s just you and your decisions entering through that gate.
This may seem harsh. However, God never deceived us. He never plays games with us. He always tells us as it is. More than anyone, God wants to see us enter through that narrow gate because what lies beyond it is greater than we can even imagine. He’s taking care of you right now. Perhaps lately, your decisions have been pushing you toward the wide gate, but right now, you have an opportunity to choose the narrow gate. Choose wisely because great things await you.
May the God of the Bible bless you!
