Everyone has their own talent. Perhaps you are thinking of yours right now. You are a great singer, a great cook, the best baker in your family, and so on. We look for the most talented in that area whenever we need something to get done. We search for the best doctor, lawyer, and mechanic because we want someone accredited for what they do. We want to ensure they know they can tend to our needs.
However, what happens when the best they can offer us is bad news? For example, “You have a fatal disease.” “There’s nothing else I can do for you.” Unfortunately, it’s a lost case.” Knowing they’re the best and can only give you bad news can be heartbreaking. Of course, you will look for a second and third opinion, but what if everyone has the same thing to say? Where do you look next?
Although they may be the best, they don’t have the final say. For those who believe in the Word of God, that is where their final say comes from. Although the best may say there’s no more hope for your health, the Word says:
“For I will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds,’ says the Lord,” Jeremiah 30:17
Although lawyers may say your case is lost, the Bible says:
“O Lord, You have pleaded the case for my soul;
You have redeemed my life.” Lamentations 3:58
Though your family may seem broken, the Word of God promises:
“…But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15
For every negative Word today, the Bible holds a promise that contradicts it. Man will only tell you what his eyes can see, but God is far above human capabilities. He heals, restores, and brings life. Forget the Word of death you have heard and open the Book of Life. He has the final say.
May the God of the Bible bless you!
