An apple tree won’t produce oranges. Nor will an orange tree produce lemons. A tree has the fruit of whatever seed is planted in it. This is a fact. There is no way to deceive ourselves into thinking that a tree is anything but what it is when we see its fruit.

“Therefore by their fruits you will know them.” Matthew 7:20

Our life also produces fruit; through that fruit, we can conclude what is at our very root. Take a look at the fruit of your life. Can you relate to anything? Getting a job but never being able to keep it, you miss your spouse when you are far away but only fighting when you are together, and you can’t sleep at night; you are riddled with depression. And the list of bitter fruits goes on.

“Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit.” Matthew 7:17-18

You will know the kind of tree you are by the result of your life. You will know if your life is a curse or a blessing. If the results of your life have been bitter, then something is wrong. However, there is a solution for you. The Lord Jesus can prune you. He can cut away the rotten branches, pluck away the bad leaves, and create new roots in you.

All you have to do is give Him permission to work.

May the God of the Bible bless you!
