In the midst of a battle, there are usually only two options: retreat or fight. The easier option is retreat. In the face of attack, our instinct tells us to hide because we’re not strong enough to fight back. However, facing adversity, we have another option: to stand up and fight for our lives.
Many have been taking the former approach instead of the latter.
Perhaps you have only ever heard that you are not strong enough, that you can’t make it, that you’re lost in life, and it has been attack after attack.
You are battling with your health, your home is like a war zone, and your relationship is battling to stay afloat. Everywhere you look, enemies are standing up against you.
You have many problems and many enemies surrounding your life. It seems that you attract enemies to you, but look at what King David said in the midst of his own battles.
“He delivered me from my strong enemy, From those who hated me, For they were too strong for me.” Psalms 18: 17
Don’t be mistaken. These enemies are not people, for we don’t fight against flesh and blood. These enemies are the work of darkness that has been attacking your life. Yes, perhaps your enemies are too strong for you on your own, but you are not alone. God is with you. Who is stronger than God? Who is above God? No one and nothing can defeat those who belong to Him.
“They confronted me in the day of my calamity, But the Lord was my support.” Psalm 18: 18
The Lord is your support. This is more than religion or a church building. In times of trouble, we look for help where we know we will receive it, and surely, there is help for those who turn to God. He, Himself, is your support, and He will wipe away every tear from your eyes.
May the God of the Bible bless you!
