Leave a cup sitting in your sink for a day. Add a spoon the following day. Then a plate, maybe a fork. Day after day, leave something in a place in your home that shouldn’t be there and then imagine the result after a month or even two or three months. What a disaster it would turn out to be. This happens to a person’s life when they leave a spiritual problem unattended. It turns into a mess. One spirit attracts another and keeps going until a person is filled with problems and desperate for a way out.
There is the story of a man in the Bible who was a victim of this kind of evil, but his life changed the day he met the Lord Jesus.
For He said to him, “Come out of the man, unclean spirit!” Mark 5:8
An unclean spirit makes a person’s life unclean. Perhaps your family is unclean, your finances are unclean, and everything that you do is unclean because of the spirit that is working in your life. An unclean spirit doesn’t only work in one area, as is evident in the following verse. Look at how the spirit responded to the Lord Jesus.
Then He asked him, “What is your name?” And he answered, saying, “My name is Legion; for we are many.” Mark 5:9
“Many.” One to destroy the family, another for the love life, another for the finances, and one that works in the health to cause diseases, and the list goes on. Maybe you relate because you have been going from one problem to another. Each area you look at is facing one problem or another. There is no peace in your life, and there is nowhere that you can go to escape the attacks you have been under.
Those spirits had a plan for that man, but Jesus rescued him when He cast them out.
“…Then the unclean spirits went out and entered the swine (there were about two thousand); and the herd ran violently down the steep place into the sea, and drowned in the sea.” Mark 5: 13
The fate of those swine was to be the fate of that man. That was his only end: death. Surely, one day, everyone will pass away, but for those who have been set free from evil, their end will not come by their own hands but in peace.
Today, God wants to clean your life from whatever is unclean. Evil can not live in you anymore. Day, you have the opportunity to meet the Lord Jesus, just as that man did. Turn to Him, and your life will receive a deep spiritual cleansing.
May the God is the Bible bless you!
