You may be thinking that worshipping God alone is very obvious. You would never worship anyone else. But many, unconsciously, whilst using their words to worship God, also worship evil. “How?” You may be wondering. Our words express our worship, not only when we glorify God but also through what we confess. It isn’t uncommon to share a moment of hardship with a loved one. But how easily can that become a cycle of complaints?

Constantly talking about a problem, diagnosis, setback, or trying time to anyone who will listen can quickly give glory to the problem and the one who sent it. More often than not, the problem we complain about can’t even be solved by those we complain to. Look at what Jesus did when confronted with the choice to glorify evil.

Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.” Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’” Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him. (Matthew 4:8-11)

We will always have a choice. We choose who we exalt in our lives. Will you give glory to God and have the angels come and minister to you, or will you fall for evil’s traps and confess defeat? The choice is yours.

Worship God and choose victory.

May the God of the Bible bless you!
