There are 24 hours in a day, and we are each responsible for how we choose to spend those hours. How have you been spending yours? Perhaps your days have been filled with work, children, school, and obligations left and right. You do your best in everything because these things are important to you, but what if someone came to you right now and said, “Drop everything you’re doing and go meet Jesus?” What would you say?
“I have to pick up my kids from school first.”
“I just need to finish my shift.”
“I already made plans with my family.”
Perhaps you think that no one would give up an opportunity to be with Jesus for any of these reasons. However, many people have given these and many other excuses.
Then He said to him, “A certain man gave a great supper and invited many, and sent his servant at supper time to say to those who were invited, ‘Come, for all things are now ready.’ But they all with one accord began to make excuses…” Luke 14:16-18
God is waiting for you. Maybe you have been making excuses as to why you can’t go to church, or why you’re too busy to read your Bible, but there is no excuse when it comes to your salvation. Whatever the excuse may have been, whatever has been consuming you for 24 hours, put it aside and accept God’s invitation.
May the God of the Bible bless you!
