I’m sure you’ve heard the saying: “You get out what you put in” or “You reap what you sow.” The gist of it is that you should be prepared for the consequences of whatever you do—good or bad.

One man made a decision that impacted his entire life. A decision that, to some, may seem silly, but it called Jesus’ attention. A man named Zacchaeus (who had one of the most detestable professions at that time) wanted to see Jesus so badly that he climbed a sycamore tree.

You are probably wondering how that caught Jesus’ attention. To many, Zacchaeus was known as a thief, the worst of the worst, but when his opportunity came to know Jesus, he didn’t hesitate. He put in all his effort, and that caught Jesus’ attention. Perhaps this is you right now: your life is covered by your mistakes and flaws. You are known as the worst of the worst to your friends and family. You are known as a criminal, a liar, a lost cause…, but you are not.

Start to call God’s attention today. Begin making the changes that call God to come upon your life. Seek Him because He will answer you. Just as Jesus spoke to Zacchaeus, these same words can be for you today:

“Today salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham; for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” Luke 19:9-10

May the God of the Bible bless you!
