Think. Can light and dark exist in the same place? The simplest answer is, “Of course not.” Wherever there is darkness, light will snuff it out. However, many people often find themselves trying to mix light and dark, but one will always prevail.
Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” (John 8:12)
At this time, Jesus was speaking to the Pharisees, those who were self-proclaimed to be holy, but in action, they were living in darkness. There is no living in light and living in darkness. It has to be one or the other. Many, even today, refer to themselves as “born-again” but walk in the life of darkness, but the Lord Jesus makes it clear in this verse.
The dark represents this world—filled with easy pleasures, money, and everyone trying to get ahead by any means necessary. You don‘t have to be a part of it. Jesus promised that whoever follows Him will have the light of life. Imagine light being with you wherever you go.
There is nothing you will not conquer and no way you will be stopped because Jesus will be walking with you as you walk in His light.
May the God of the Bible bless you!
