There are seasons in life when problems don’t just feel heavy—they feel permanent. A failing marriage. Mounting bills. A medical diagnosis. In those moments, it’s easy to believe the struggle will last forever.
But Psalm 30:5 reminds us: “… Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning.”
The verse doesn’t deny the night or even the weeping, but it promises it has an end.
Think about someone studying for their dream career. For years, they have attended school, experienced success and failures, long nights, dedication, and hardships. Doubts may creep in, hard days may come, but at the end, when they receive their diploma and step into their career, there is joy in their accomplishment. Many even hang their diplomas on the walls in their offices.
This problem isn’t permanent. Yes, the night can feel long—but it doesn’t last forever. If you’re in a dark moment: facing a diagnosis that started as a simple pain and has escalated to a life-threatening disease, or a problem in your marriage that started as a simple disagreement—Keep praying. Keep believing that the joy of the Lord is coming.
May the God of the Bible bless you!
