Most places have a scheduled opening and closing time. Schedules are necessary. After all, we live in an ever-moving world. Everyone is busy and preoccupied. If something doesn’t fit into the schedule, it often gets left behind. There are many things we have to do. As the saying goes: “Things to do, places to go and people to see.” However, we cannot forget that the Altar (God) has no schedule.

“May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble;
May the name of the God of Jacob defend you;
May He send you help from the sanctuary,
And strengthen you out of Zion;” Psalms 20:1-2

When we are in urgent need of help, there is no time to wait for regular business hours. In the face of bad news, tragedy, sickness, or pain, there is no time to wait—Which is why it is so important never to put our faith to rest. Routine is the enemy of faith. We cannot predict when we will face a hard moment, so why should we schedule when we will live in our faith?

Perhaps you have become so stuck in routines that even your prayers, the days you go to church, and the moments you spend with God are scheduled. Break the routine! Whenever you need to talk to God, He is there. Maybe your prayers have become few and far between. Let’s change that. Let your faith be inspired by God every day. Don’t wait.

May the God of the Bible bless you!
