Words hold weight. The word of a judge can overturn a verdict, the word of a doctor can put a mind at ease or bring immense fear, the word of a mother or father can shape the life of their child. Every word that is said is final. There is no taking it back because once a word is said, it is out there forever.
The Bible is a compilation of words, the word of man, the word of God, and, yes, even the word of the devil. Throughout the Bible, you see men and women of God share their words of faith and experiences, reiterate the words of the Lord Jesus, and you even find moments when the devil has spoken to people.
The word of God never fades or becomes inadequate. In moments of failure, fear, and disappointment, God’s word still reigns true. In fact, His Word never returns void. Perhaps you have been going through a rough moment; you are done physically and mentally, but don’t give up. Put aside the words of death and disappointment that you have been hearing lately and turn to the word of God, because in it there is freedom.
“Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” John 8:36
May the God of the Bible bless you!
