Who in this world wouldn’t love to simply start over in life? To erase his or her past along with all of the mistakes, regrets, disappointments and shame that was experienced? Every bad memory – all of it just erased, wiped away and forgotten as if it never existed? I am sure you are already nodding your head in agreement – the truth is, everyone wants this brand new life, but don’t know if it is even possible to have it after living the life they are currently living. Let me fill you in on a little secret…
“Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
(John 3:3)
This one small phrase, spoken by our Lord Jesus, is the ultimate secret to having a brand new life. Whoever seeks for something new, must first rid themself of the old. What does this mean? It means to unlearn everything and start anew with God as their teacher. It’s starting from ground zero, just like a baby.
It means that those seeking for this new life must first get rid of their old ways and habits. It is a decision that needs to come from inside a person – no one can make that decision on their behalf. And once that decision is made with God, no one and nothing can stop them from having this brand new life.
This is why from time to time, people come to Church and their lives are completely transformed from the inside out, in a short period of time – because they made the decision to ‘die’ to their old self and completely surrender 100% of themselves to God.
“Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.” (John 12:24)
Perhaps this is what has been missing for you to finally change… Now you have the secret, what will you do about it?
