We are shaped as we spend our days in the presence of God. We grow, become strong in our faith and gradually, day by day, our life develops and shines in a world full of darkness.
The life of a child of God doesn’t become perfect overnight. There’s no trick that lets you go to bed with a messed up life and wake up the next morning with your life all neat and tidy, without having to lift a finger. No! You’ve got to sacrifice. You’ve got to make an effort. You have to put God’s Word into practice, deny yourself, take up your cross and follow the Lord Jesus. Sacrifice, sacrifice, sacrifice. Three levels of sacrifice that are indispensable to light the path of the righteous.
It’s perseverance that lights your way, day after day, until it’s perfect daylight, until the light has dissipated all darkness. Stay in the light, persevere in the light, and your path will shine ever brighter until everything in you is light.
But this won’t happen without effort, without struggles, without having to stand up and fight to bring order to your messed up life as God has determined. He has already given you the victory. He is the light that illuminates your life. He’s the one who makes the perfect day. He is your motivation to persevere.
The light will shine ever brighter in your life.
