We all like to have the final say.
Think about it: everyone wants to be the one who closes the deal, makes the winning shot, or delivers the last word in an argument. There’s something about having control over how things begin and how they end that makes us feel secure.
But in life, we quickly realize that we don’t have as much control as we think. Plans change, people disappoint, and unexpected situations arise, leaving us feeling lost, uncertain, or even powerless.
That is why the Bible says:
“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.” (Revelation 22:13)
In other words, He started everything, and He will finish everything.
He saw your struggles before they even started and already has the solution. He isn’t caught off guard by your failures and won’t leave your story unfinished.
Maybe you feel like your life is stuck in the middle—too far from where you started but not yet where you want to be. Don’t be discouraged. If God is the First and the Last, it means He is also everything in between. He’s working on the details, writing a story greater than you can imagine.
You don’t need to fight for the last word—He already has it. And His final word over you is victory.
Trust Him. Keep going. The One who began a good work in you will surely complete it.
May the God of the Bible bless you!
