What do you see when you look in the mirror? Maybe you don’t even answer this question anymore because you stopped looking in the mirror a long time ago! When you look at your face—your reflection, you don’t like what you see because your face reflects the pain you are feeling inside. The pain of losing a loved one, a friendship, a job, your marriage, your health, what is causing you pain?

There was a man in the Bible who had pain in his heart, and it was reflected on his face. His face told a story without him even opening his mouth.

Therefore the king said to me, “Why is your face sad since you are not sick? This is nothing but sorrow of heart.” (Nehemiah 2:2)

Nehemiah was sad, and it was evident on his face. The king offered him help, paying close attention to Nehemiah’s action in the verse below.

Then the king said to me, “What do you request?” So I prayed to the God of heaven. And I said to the king, “If it pleases the king, and if your servant has found favor in your sight, I ask that you send me to Judah, to the city of my fathers’ tombs, that I may rebuild it.” (Nehemiah 2:4-5)

First things first, he prayed to the Lord! This is the action of faith that is needed! No matter what you are facing right now, take it to the Lord in prayer. When you go to Him, you will not need a second opinion; He is the specialist, and He has ALL the answers—the solution for the problems of the soul! I will leave you with this Bible verse:

I am the Lord, and there is no other; There is no God besides Me. I will gird you, though you have not known Me, (Isaiah 45:5)

You are not alone. You have the privilege and free access to the Lord.

May the God of the Bible bless you!
