Some people find this very easy to do when everything is going their way: Bills are paid, health intact, business booming, or dream job paying well, family together, love life heading in the right way, family in church, loved ones totally surrendered to the Lord, what a life! Who wouldn’t want this?

What is your sit-tight moment? Maybe a family vacation, sitting on the beach, enjoying the cool breeze, not so hot temperature!

Maybe you are reading this post and asking yourself when you will be able to sit sight? Because your reality is the total opposite, the problems you are experiencing are driving you crazy: you can’t remember the last time you even enjoyed a full night’s sleep!

I understand your frustration, but I want to ask you a question: When you worry about things, have you solved them? Maybe not, I have a proposition for you, look at this Bible verse.

In the day of prosperity be joyful,
But in the day of adversity consider:
Surely God has appointed the one as well as the other,
So that man can find out nothing that will come after him. (Ecclesiastes 7:14)

The Word of God is true and faithful, and it’s the best counselor. This verse is guiding us to consider, in the day of adversity, to sit tight. Do not follow the suggestion of Job’s wife when she advised him to “Curse God and die” during his adversities.

What should you consider?

Consider what the Lord has done for us, the Work of His hand, His death on the cross, salvation…

Do you remember the song that goes:

Count your blessings, name them one by one…

Go ahead, count your blessings; you will be surprised how many blessings you have!

Stand in your faith, sit tight, keep your face up!

May the God of the Bible bless you,

Bishop Bira Joshua
