If you were to count all of the problems, losses, injustices, setbacks, and disappointments you’ve faced over the years, you probably couldn’t even remember them all. Problems are unavoidable. Losses are inevitable. However, for those who live by faith, these are the moments when their faith is truly tested.
When Daniel was thrown into the lions’ den, his faith was put to the test. When Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were cast into the fire, their faith was also tested. Both of these examples show us that problems will arise. God didn’t hold back the problem, but He saw them through it, and they survived.
And you? What has been your reaction in the face of problems? Because the Bible encourages us to examine ourselves:
“Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified.” 2 Corinthians 13:5
When you examine yourself, you discover the level of faith you truly have. Yes, we are all human, and life will sometimes throw things at us that will try to shake us. However, those are the very moments when we must test ourselves to see if we really believe.
Unfortunately, it’s during hard moments that many people prove they don’t have the faith they thought they did. They had faith to conquer, to receive blessings, and to see great things—but not the faith to keep trusting when things became difficult.
Examine yourself. Prove that you have the faith to go until the end. Whatever situation you’re facing right now, God is the solution.
May the God of the Bible bless you!
