In this world people want to go ahead of God and build their own future, they want to create their own happiness and they end up suffering. If you don’t seek God first, then how do you expect all the things He has to offer. If you don’t seek God first, then you end up on your own! God won’t just tag a long with you! When you go ahead and get married (on your own), you get a job (on your own), you buy a house (on your own), you don’t seek God’s opinion, counsel, direction, you just go….. then at the end of the day you are still sad and empty on the inside.
You thought that what you needed in order to be happy was to get married. You got married with the love of your life and you are still not happy. You thought “If I could just land my dream job, I would finally be happy”, you got the job and you still aren’t happy. Then you thought maybe if I’m financially successful I can buy my dream house and then I’ll finally be happy. You bought the house and that also didn’t work, you are still empty, sad, depressed, nothing seems to be going right.
There is no quick fix when it comes to the things of God and when it comes to the kingdom of God. The Bible says that the kingdom of God is taken by force!
And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force Matthew 11:12
The Kingdom of God requires us to sacrifice, sacrifice and sacrifice some more. If you don’t seek Him first, if you don’t surrender your life to Him, then everything you do in life you will end up failing.
With God there is no quick fix, you are either with Him or you’re not. He’s either with you or He’s not, It’s that simple! If you try to build your life on your own, with the strength of your own arms you might even achieve a few things, but at what cost? You’ll end up losing everything you’ve accomplished. No matter what you accomplish, in the end you still won’t be happy. Doing thing’s the right way and depending on God takes a lot more sacrifice and discipline, but the end results are there to stay. In the end you will have everything you have accomplished with God, you will have your salvation, joy, peace of mind, happiness and the motivation to go for more and accomplish more to glorify His name.
May the God of the Bible bless all of you!
