• “Please”
• “Thank you”
• “You are welcome”
• “Excuse me”

These are some of the first expressions we learned as children. Unfortunately, it’s disheartening to say that these days are no longer the same.

I remember that back then, one of the most important ones was: “Thank you!” Even babies had to learn this word to receive their bottles.

It was a routine to get the little ones to say, “Thank you!” The parent would hold onto the bottle, toy, or whatever was being given until that “Thank you” came out. It was a way to teach them gratefulness. Let’s be honest: if one does not learn to be grateful as a child, the tendency is to become ungrateful as an adult.

Yesterday, I reflected on this topic during the Sunday Livestream Service, asking this question: Did you give glory to God today for the things He has done?

Come to think of it, many have been ungrateful! I gave the example of waking up and thanking God for the bed. While that may seem simple, how many people wake up in a hospital bed? How many people open their eyes to the sound of a beeping machine?

How many people must wait for a nurse to move their bodies because they cannot walk anymore, while we wake up and get out of bed without realizing we can stand on our feet?

There are so many examples I could give of reasons to be grateful. Perhaps you don’t see the reasons because you say that your plate is full; you feel overwhelmed and surrounded by problems. However, see what the Lord has done! See from where He took You from. Do not complain, because when you complain, you are taking one step backward.

Do not delay your life by complaining; instead, start your day by giving thanks to the Lord for what He has done.

May the God of the Bible bless you!
