When you purchase furniture or toys that need to be assembled, it is very important to follow the instructions sheet enclosed.
Sometimes, they list the type of screwdriver needed: Flathead, Philips, etc. How many times have you ignored the instructions sheet and delayed the assembly time? What could have taken you ten minutes took you an hour because you refused to read and follow the instructions.
Even though the information was given to you (included in your purchase), if you don’t read and obey the instructions, this information will never bring you transformation over time; it will remain broken! Then you might have a loved one shouting at you; it is simple, just follow the instructions!
Even though they might communicate in the wrong way, we must admit, they are right! It really is simple if we just follow the instructions.
If we see the Word of God in the same way, we will truly experience this phrase: information that transforms. This is exactly what this Bible verse is saying to us:
But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; (James 1:22-23)
The Word of God is simple (Do you remember the instruction sheet above?). Once you follow the instructions, they will bring the transformation!
This is not about Bible knowledge, knowing the Bible from cover to cover. It is simple: just read the Bible, follow the instructions, and experience the greatest transformation from the inside out!
This is what happens when we practice our faith based on the Word of God! Go ahead, try it, and experience the greatness of the God of the Bible in your life.
