Every action we commit begins in the mind. Before a word leaves our mouth, before a decision is made, before a habit is formed—there was first a thought. The mind is the doorway to our behavior. What we consistently allow to live within us will eventually manifest in our actions.

“Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.” Colossians 3:2

Think about an everyday task: grocery shopping. If you walk into the store without a list, you’ll likely leave with things you didn’t need and forget what you actually came for.

But when you walk in with a list, your choices are guided. You pass by distractions because your mind is fixed on what matters. The list directs your decisions aisle by aisle.
Your mind works the same way.

If you begin your day without grounding it in God’s Word, your thoughts will be shaped by whatever shows up first—social media, breaking news, stress, comparisons, or worries. But when you start the day with the Word of God, you’re walking through the day with the “list” of God’s Word on your mind.

Filling your mind with the Word of God in the morning sets the tone for your reactions, your conversations, and your choices. When frustration comes, a mind filled with the Word responds differently than a mind filled with anger. When temptation appears, a mind that has God’s promises is stronger to resist.

Every action starts in the mind. Start your mornings in the Bible. Let it shape your thinking before anything else does. Because when your mind is fixed on God, your life will show it.

May the God of the Bible bless you!
