Imagine a city with no walls—any enemy could come in at any time. That city would be vulnerable, open to attack, and eventually fall. Now think of your mind as that city. If you don’t guard it, anything can enter—doubts, fears, temptations, negativity, lies. And once those things enter, they don’t just stay quiet; they influence your choices, your emotions, and your future.
That’s why the Bible tells us to guard our minds. Not everything deserves your attention. Not every thought is from God. You have to be intentional about what you allow in.
The apostle Paul gave this powerful instruction:
“Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” Colossians 3:2
It’s not enough to just avoid evil—you must fill your mind with what is good. With the Word of God. With the things that lift you up, not pull you down. If your thoughts are aligned with heaven, your actions will follow, and so will your future.
Guard your mind like it’s a treasure, because it is. Don’t let fear, insecurity, or the noise of this world build a home in your thoughts. Instead, choose daily to focus on what is true, eternal, and life-giving.
May the God of the Bible bless you!
