Opportunity comes once in a while!

Everyone knows this saying. Maybe this saying was a turning point in your life.

You got an opportunity and you took it! Perhaps it was a deal on a house with a price you couldn’t resist, and now you are a proud homeowner. Congratulations—well done!

Maybe you decided to finish your college degree, and you took it. When others were celebrating, you burned the midnight oil. But here you are, years later, an established businessman, lawyer, or doctor—no matter your profession—you got a golden opportunity, and you took it. Congratulations—well done!

There was a man in the Bible who got a golden opportunity, but his reaction was amazing! Take a look:

“Look, this day your eyes have seen that the Lord delivered you today into my hand in the cave, and someone urged me to kill you. But my eye spared you, and I said, ‘I will not stretch out my hand against my lord, for he is the Lord’s anointed.’”(1 Samuel 24:10)

I believe this action is mind-blowing for many, and they might even ask, “How could he lose out on such a golden opportunity?” Well, not all golden opportunities must be acted upon, especially if it involves revenge! Do you know how many people are incarcerated today because they took a so-called “golden opportunity”?

Nowadays, we can deal with God or deal with the law. We have the authorities, we have the judges, we have the court to report to—to let the law take care of our cases and our affairs—but we must never take the matter into our own hands! Let God do what He can do better than you! Only God can do it.

Use your golden opportunity for the better, not for the worse. You don’t need to be the judge—let God judge!

May the God of the Bible bless you,

Bishop Bira Joshua
