We often hear the phrase “small world,” but with a population of over 8 billion people, it is far from small. Yes, with the help of technology and social media, the world may feel a bit smaller. Still, there are people we will never meet in our lifetime and places we will never go.
It’s easy to feel invisible in this world, especially when we are going through problems, because you can be sure that billions are going through hardships of their own.
So, with every person you’ve ever walked past in your lifetime, every conversation you’ve ever had, every person you’ve laughed or cried with—How many of them have truly ‘seen’ you? How many truly know what you are going through?
There was a certain man in the Bible named Nathanael, and he had the privilege of an exchange with the Lord Jesus that went like this:
“Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward Him and said of him, ‘Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom is no deceit!’
Nathanael said to Him, ‘How do You know me?’
Jesus answered and said to him, ‘Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.’” —John 1:47-48
God sees you. This morning, when you prayed and thanked Him for another day of life… Last week, when you called out to Him in your pain… In those moments when you didn’t know what to do and sought His help, He saw you. He still sees you today.
Perhaps you’ve felt like you are alone amid a vast sea, but He sees you, and He has not abandoned you. He knows your struggles, your pain, and your needs—and before you even turn to Him, He is already waiting for you.
May the God of the Bible bless you!
