Imagine having the opportunity to talk to the one person who could change your entire life, but instead of focusing on the life-changing task at hand, you worry about being well-spoken, using sophisticated words, or appearances. The focus would be completely on the wrong thing.

Many have said, “I don’t know how to pray.” “I don’t have a Christian vocabulary.” Well, this is a common misconception. Even those within the church often think they don’t have the same technique as the pastor or minister, but one day, the Lord Jesus made it clear when He said:

And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.
“Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.” (Matthew 6:7-8)

God hears sincerity. When you pray honestly, God hears you. No matter if you are inside or outside a church building, on your knees or raising your hands. No matter the time or place, God hears you. How many have said one word, and with that word, the Lord Jesus rescued them? It isn’t the beautiful, eloquent prayers that call God’s attention; it is the sincere ones.

May the God of the Bible bless you!
