You will never see someone who is drowning laughing, smiling, and having a great time because at that moment their life is at risk. There’s nothing to rejoice about, there’s nothing to be happy about, or cheer about because in that moment, they’re in desperate need of rescue.
This is how many walk around—For them, there’s nothing to be happy about. There are no “good” mornings because it seems like every day is a struggle. And they do not need a physical rescue; in fact, the rescue they need is within themselves. They are facing a spiritual battle with depression, loneliness, problems that seem to come from the left and from the right, and little by little, it seems like time is running out.
Hezekiah was also in a critical situation. He was about to die, but in his desperation, He cried out to God and received fifteen more years of life. After his healing, he said:
“ … Death cannot praise You;
Those who go down to the pit cannot hope for Your truth.
The living, the living man, he shall praise You,
As I do this day…” Isaiah 38:18-19
Only those who come out of the pit can glorify God. There is no glory to God when you are suffering. He wants His name to be glorified in your life. Do not accept this death sentence. The same God who healed Hezekiah and added fifteen more years to his life is still alive today, and He can do the same for you. He can renew your life. He can add what has been lost to you for the glory and honor of His name.
May the God of the Bible bless you!
