“If, at first, you don’t succeed…” Surely you can finish the rest. Who likes to fail? No one. But it can often seem like life becomes a series of failures. You try to accomplish your goals, move forward financially, build your family, and move forward from your past, but to no avail. It can seem easier to throw in the towel, but those who live by faith know there is another option.
But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.” Luke 5:5
Maybe you have been toiling all your life and have put your trust in people, things, and degrees, and you’re ready to give up. Don’t! Instead, obey the voice of God. What is He telling you to do? Is He telling you to try again? Change courses? Change your vision? He is speaking to you.
You’ve tried it your way, and like Peter, you may be thinking, “I’ve tried this already.” Nevertheless, obey what God is telling you to do right now. Speak to Him and ask Him for direction in your life. He will show you the way.
May the God of the Bible bless you!
