What’s the worst thing you have done? Is it drugs? Prostitution? Theft? Or even murder?

How disheartening is it when your whole life is judged by that mistake you made?

We grow up knowing that our wrongs are always kept on record, right? It’s the terrible ‘F’ on that school report, the work appraisal that doesn’t go according to plan, and that criminal record that stops you from moving on. Not to mention people’s memory! There’s always that one person who likes to dredge up the past and use it against you…

Everything goes onto your record in the eyes of man, but before God, it doesn’t. How great is that! He takes your past and throws it into the sea of forgetfulness. When you decide to turn to Him, God gives you the opportunity to start afresh. That’s right, all your wrongs – no matter how dire they are, are forgiven and no longer held against you.

The problem is, many forget about this mercy from God, and with time, they decide to turn their back on Him and return to their wrongdoings.

“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.” Galatians 6:7

The thing is, if you decide to turn back, even after so many years of following God, then you leave God no option but to ignore that clean record He gave you; He will have to go with your current choice of lifestyle.

You see, God will not play tug of war with you, He gives you the choice to decide which direction you will take. I repeat, God deletes all your wrongs but then if you suddenly decide to do evil, those good deeds will count for nothing, because fair is fair – God is just.

Good is the fact that you have the opportunity to have all your wrongs forgotten and start again.

Bad is all the wrong things you have done, that are separating you from God.

Ugly is when you’ve changed but decide to throw away this opportunity and continue in your wrong ways.

Do you want a new start? Want to bury your past and have the opportunity to start again? Turn to God, He will hold nothing against you and you can have the chance of a new and blessed beginning that looks nothing like your past!

May the God of the Bible bless you
