Can you imagine this situation: you get into your car, crank up the engine, and are ready to drive off, when suddenly you feel the car reversing instead of going forward?

What about this; coming out of a blizzard with the intention of finding a warm and cozy home, only to find the temperature colder inside than outside because your heating system malfunctioned…

Or what about this? You go into your back to withdraw funds only to find that your account was compromised and the balance is on zero…

You will notice one thing in common with these examples. You were expecting something good, and something bad happened instead.

The same thing happened to Job in the Bible. He says:

When I looked for good, then evil came unto me: and when I waited for light, there came darkness.

(Job 30:26)

Maybe your 2020 was the same; you entered the new year expecting good, but only evil happened.

For some people, the only thing that changed was the calendar. They used to write in 2020, and now they have to write in 2021. But that is not the only change that God wants in your life!

Don’t get me wrong; I know that nothing changes overnight. But some things have to change, and the first thing that must change is inside of you.

If something inside of you doesn’t change, then Job’s example will become your reality. And that will only lead to frustration. No one can be happy when looking for the good and getting back only evil.

Let’s change this situation. Proclaim that what you expect in 2021 must come to pass! That’s what faith is for.

Don’t just hope, but determine the changes you expect to happen in this new year and put the Lord in charge of your life. There is no way for evil to come instead of good when you do that.

May the God of the Bible bless you.
