Once I heard of a mother that told her children the following;”don’t scatter roses after I am gone”. When asked to explain this saying this is what she said;
Give me all the love and attention when it matters; now when I am here with you, because after I am gone there is nothing you will be able to do for me, likewise there will be nothing for me to do for you.
She then took the opportunity to give many examples; call me, let me speak with my grand children, call me to tell me how much you love me, if you did anything to hurt me, apologize. If you want to buy me a gift, go ahead, but do all of these things when it matters, while I am still here with you.
I believe this is exactly what this Bible verse is saying to us today.
Seek the Lord while He may be found,
Call upon Him while He is near. (Isaiah 55:6)
This is the same concept as the example above. God is giving you the opportunity to seek Him now at this very moment before it’s too late.
No matter what you’ve done wrong, you can stop it right now. He is willing to pardon you abundantly. He wants to start and establish a real relationship with you. He wants to show you great and awesome things, He just needs your effort. Go ahead, take action right now.
