There was a project that was often done in schools. Students would plant a seed and watch as it grew. Little did we know that that seed had to die first before it could produce life. Those who want a life with God are more similar to this seed than they can imagine. This seed is an example of your life. There is no living with God unless you die to your will.
It is easy to stay in your comfort zone, live in whatever way you want, and continue “living” as is. However, there will be no evidence of God’s Spirit producing life through you. The Bible states it clearly:
“Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.” (John 12:24)
We are this grain of wheat. Falling to the ground and dying is when you put your entire life, old ways, and old self into the hands of God, and the ‘much grain’ you will produce is the life that God has prepared for you. The more we try to live according to the world, according to our will, and be one person in a church and another outside, the less we will see the life of God flowing through us. There is no double life. We can give up the old us and become the new, or we can continue being just a seed that produces no life.
You do not have to be alone anymore. Hand over this small grain and allow God to flourish in your life.
May the God of the Bible bless you!
