Some professions are easily identifiable. Walking down the street, you can easily spot a police officer, pilot, or healthcare professional by simply looking at their clothing. When they are dressed in that uniform, you know what they have dedicated their life to. As Christians, we also have a uniform; we are required to wear the uniform of a clean life. From the moment the Lord Jesus invited us into his presence and we accepted His call, we put on new garments and we must wear them every day.

The Lord Jesus spoke a parable of a king who had invited people to his son‘s wedding, and one by one they denied the invitation. So he extended that invitation to everyone, “good and bad.”

“So those servants went out into the highways and gathered together all whom they found, both bad and good. And the wedding hall was filled with guests.” Matthew 22:10

However, it wasn’t enough for people to just show up. It was a special moment. They were being invited into the presence of a king, and there were certain requirements they had to follow.

“But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw a man there who did not have on a wedding garment. So he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you come in here without a wedding garment?’ And he was speechless. Then the king said to the servants, ‘Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’ “For many are called, but few are chosen.” Matthew 22:11-14

Living a clean life with Christ doesn’t mean being perfect. However, we must recognize that many were called to salvation, and that we are the ones who make ourselves chosen, and we should dress accordingly.

May the God of the Bible bless you!
