Jacob was facing an uncertain future when he made a vow to God. In Genesis 28:20, he said, “If God will be with me, and keep me in this way that I am going…”
Jacob recognized that what he needed was not simply a change in his circumstances; he needed God with him.
Sometimes the problem you are facing may seem to have no solution because you are looking at it through what people can do. But God is not limited by people, circumstances, or closed doors.
Think about something as simple as being stuck in traffic when you are already late. You may become frustrated because you cannot control the cars around you, the traffic lights, or the road conditions. But being frustrated does not change the situation. What you can control is how you respond. You can continue moving forward.
Life is the same. You cannot control every person or circumstance, but you can choose to put your trust in God.
So, if you are facing a problem today, do not allow the actions of people to convince you that your future is in their hands. Make your vow to God. Commit your way to Him, trust His direction, and remember that the One who holds your life is greater than the situation you are facing.
Your circumstances may change, people may change, and doors may open or close—but your life is in the hands of God.
May the God of the Bible bless you!
