“Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them. And the Lord said to Satan, ‘From where do you come?’ So Satan answered the Lord and said, ‘From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it.'” — Job 1:6-7
The devil is spirit. That means he isn’t limited by location, age, background, or whether someone has recently given their life to God. As Job 1:6-7 reminds us, he is constantly moving “to and fro on the earth.” His attacks are not reserved for one type of person—they are aimed at everyone.
Think about the weather. When a heavy storm rolls through a city, it doesn’t stop to ask who deserves rain. It falls on every neighborhood. The difference isn’t whether the storm comes—it’s whether you have shelter.
Challenges, temptations, discouragement, and spiritual attacks can come to anyone, including those who faithfully follow God. Becoming a Christian doesn’t mean you’ll never face battles. It means you never have to face them alone.
When difficulties arise, don’t assume God has abandoned you. The presence of a battle is not proof of God’s absence. In fact, He promises to be with His children through every trial, giving them strength, wisdom, and peace even when circumstances don’t immediately change.
If you’re walking through a difficult moment today, remember this: the enemy may be active, but so is God. Stay close to Him.
