Have you heard the saying, “No news is good news”?
When you receive bad news, how do you usually react?
Bad news from the doctor…
Bad news from your lawyer…
Bad news from your child…
Bad news from your spouse…
Bad news from your teacher…
It’s about the reaction.
What action is taken after receiving the bad news? For some people, it ends a wonderful day instantly!
For some, it’s an opportunity for growth and strength; they grab the bull by the horns, seek the solution, and move on!
There was a situation in Bible days that the bad news came in one of the worst places: at a wedding! It’s a moment of celebration; who wants to hear bad news at a wedding?
On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. Now both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding. And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no wine.” Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does your concern have to do with Me? My hour has not yet come.” His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.” (John 2:1-5)
Pay attention to verse five,
“Whatever He says to you, do it.”
Let us reason, who is the HE?
Jesus!
Where can His saying be found today?
In the Bible!
That’s it, IT IS WRITTEN!
We still have His words active and present with us today! Whatever bad news you received today, I can assure you, you can find the Good News in the Bible to overturn that bad news!
Take your Bible, find the Word, and proclaim, “IT IS WRITTEN!”
If you got bad news from your doctor, this is the Good News from the Bible!
But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. (Isaiah 53:5)
