Many people think a healthy mind comes only from reducing stress or thinking positively. Sure, those things may have positive effects, but a truly healthy mind comes from the Word of God. What we allow into our minds eventually shapes how we think, feel, and act.
The Apostle Paul reminds us in Colossians 3:16, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom.” This instruction is more than a suggestion—it is a guide for keeping our minds spiritually healthy. When God’s Word lives in our thoughts, it influences our decisions, attitudes, and reactions.
A sick mind is often the result of neglected spiritual nourishment. Just like the body becomes weak without healthy food, the mind becomes vulnerable when it is not filled with truth. When the mind is empty of God’s Word, negative thoughts can easily grow—thoughts like jealousy, anger, fear, or suspicion. These thoughts do not appear out of nowhere; they often grow in the space where truth is missing.
If we want a healthy mind, we must be intentional about what fills it. When we fill our minds with the thoughts of God, there is less room for the thoughts that do us no good.
May the God of the Bible bless you!
