I listened to a testimony yesterday from a woman who shared her story of the hurt and injustice she experienced in her childhood.

Growing up, she felt profound anger and bitterness within her. Usually, when people whose hearts are heavy and in pain open their mouths to speak, the words that come out reflect what they have stored inside: anger and bitterness.

It’s like a person who curses: when they are in a place where they can not curse, for example, in the courthouse, school, or church, they have to hold themselves, watch their mouths. These curse words are inside the person, and sooner or later, this person will use these inappropriate words in the wrong place because they are inside the person.

Long story short, she came to the church to surrender her life to the Lord Jesus. She forgave the person who hurt her, received the Holy Spirit, and now her life is totally different: no more anger and bitterness!

She experienced the bad fruits, but her faith gave her access to the good fruits.

This Bible verse explains it:

“Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or else make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for a tree is known by its fruit. Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things. (Matthew 12:33-34)

No matter how bitter or angry you are, there is hope for you in the Lord Jesus. Do not fear, use your faith; go to Him, ask Him for the strength to overcome the traumas you have been through, you too can trade this bitter, angry fruit of a life for the good, sweet fruit of a good tree!

May the God of the Bible bless you!
