Sometimes life is good, very good in fact—paychecks come on time, relationships feel steady, and things seem to be going your way. In times like that, it’s easy to send up a quick “Thank You, God” and then carry on. On the other hand, when things fall apart, many find themselves distancing themselves from faith. But a real relationship with God isn’t meant to swing back and forth based on how comfortable or uncomfortable our lives are. We should seek Him, always.

“Though the fig tree may not blossom, Nor fruit be on the vines; Though the labor of the olive may fail, And the fields yield no food; Though the flock may be cut off from the fold, And there be no herd in the stalls— Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.” Habakkuk 3:17-18

The truth is, we don’t seek God only because it benefits us or because circumstances push us toward Him. We seek Him because He is our Father.

Perhaps you can’t be in the church every day, but you can seek Him wherever you are. God meets you where you are because His presence isn’t limited to four walls or a Sunday service.

Seek God for who He is—not only for what He gives.

May the God of the Bible bless you!
