There are days when the pressure is heavy, the expectations are overwhelming, and even the people closest to us don’t fully understand what we’re carrying. In times like these, we often try to push through on our own; we force ourselves to be strong, to stay composed, to keep going. However, the truth is: no one was created to walk through their hardest battles alone.
In the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus showed us something powerful: even the Son of God sought strength from above. On that night, His soul was “exceedingly sorrowful, even to death.” He wasn’t ashamed of His weakness; instead, He prayed. And in response to His prayer, something remarkable happened:
“Then an angel appeared to Him from heaven, strengthening Him.” (Luke 22:43)
Before the arrest, before the cross, before the victory, there was a moment when Jesus needed strength, and God sent it. He didn’t remove the situation; He strengthened His Son to go through it.
God may not always take the burden away, but He will always give us the strength to carry it.
Help doesn’t always look like escape. Sometimes, help is the power to endure.
So when you feel overwhelmed, remember Gethsemane. Remember that Jesus, in His most painful hour, was not left alone, and neither are you. God knows how to send the exact help you need at the exact moment you need it. Just like He strengthened Jesus, He will strengthen you, too.
May the God of the Bible bless you!
