How painful it is when someone you showed kindness to betrays you. That friend, like a sister or brother, whom you invited—and even got a job for—only to have them lie and get you fired to take over your position.
Betrayal has a bitter taste. Now you can understand the situation that Jesus faced.
The governor answered and said to them, “Which of the two do you want me to release to you?” They said, “Barabbas!” Pilate said to them, “What then shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?” They all said to him, “Let Him be crucified!” (Matthew 27:21-22)
The same people whom Jesus healed, fed, cast out demons, and taught were the same ones saying, “Crucify Him!”—What a betrayal!
It was a great betrayal, indeed, but today, people are doing the same thing. Every time someone goes against the Word of God, they are choosing Barabbas.
Do not choose Barabbas, don’t go for what is evil, but go for what is right!
Choose Jesus today and reject Barabbas.
May the God of the Bible bless you!
