You get what you give. Meaning, whatever you give to others, how you treat them, and how you react to them will be reciprocated to you. Have you ever gone to purchase something and a simple smile or even a good morning completely changed how the cashier interacts with you? Perhaps they become nicer, more helpful, or even smile back.
Give. Do not give expecting anything in return, but give because it is good and right. In the moment when you need to receive, there will be someone ready to give to you.
“Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful. “Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.” (Luke 6:36-38)
We often hear the phrase, “give and you shall receive,” and think it is just about the physical things, but it’s more than that. There is no price on forgiveness; no value can be placed on being merciful, but in the moment when someone needs it and we can give, we are giving them a priceless gift. Do not withhold your hand when you can give to someone, because in the same way that you give, your Heavenly Father will also give to you in your time of need.
May the God of the Bible bless you!
