Studies claim that the average adult makes around 35,000 decisions a day. That means from the moment we open our eyes, we decide what happens in our life. Whether it be five more minutes in bed versus beginning the day on time, or what will be for lunch that day, the pair of shoes that you will wear. Every little decision adds up. That means the outcome of our life is up to us. These decisions can vary from big to small. For example, the shirt you put on your back right down to the person you decide to marry. Every one of those 35,000 decisions frames the path of your life.

It isn’t the small decisions that should worry us, but the big ones. It’s often in those decisions that many make mistakes. Each life is headed toward a destination, and those who do not have this very specific type of GPS will, unfortunately, make wrong turns after wrong turns until ultimately arriving at an undesired destination. This specific GPS that guides our lives toward salvation and gives us wisdom in our everyday decisions is the Holy Spirit, and He is available to everyone.

Perhaps there are choices you look back on and regret because you were leaning on your own understanding, you didn’t allow the Holy Spirit to guide you, and today, you think about what you would have done differently. After all, hindsight is 20/20.

However, there are no take-backs or time machines—So that means every decision must count. Seek the Spirit of God because when you have Him, you won’t need the opinions or validation of others. He will guide you to the right decisions, and He will frame your life in a way that reflects His image.

“However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.” John 16:13

May the God of the Bible bless you!
