What if you paid a bill, such as a phone bill, utility bill, or internet bill, and a week later, you received a late payment notice in the mail with an additional late fee? Would you accept that bill? Surely, your answer is a definite no. No one pays the same bill twice. However, many find themselves walking around paying the same bill every single day—they still suffer and hurt even though Jesus has already taken care of those burdens.
And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” Matthew 27:46
These were the Lord Jesus’ words, but this question still rests on many lips. They feel forgotten, forsaken, and helpless. They call out for help, but it seems that no one is answering. Jesus has already experienced this and endured the pain that you feel today. He has already absorbed all of the groaning, suffering, and hurt. So, when life challenges you with problems, remember that they are not yours to bear.
The Lord Jesus suffered all of this pain and humiliation for me and you. He brought every ounce of human suffering upon His body for our sake, and this is why we cannot accept to endure suffering today. We cannot walk around with silent pain. Give your life over to Jesus. He has already and will continue to take care of you.
