Every day, we are faced with a new adversary. Yes, we often don’t want to hear it, but it is the reality. Whether it be in family, work, health, disappointments, or bad news, we will all face something. As long as we’re alive, problems will come. However, the problem itself isn’t the main issue.
King David was a prime example of having problems. During his time on earth, he had many adversaries, many who wished him dead, and even his own son sought to kill him. He had problems, but he knew the importance of seeking God first.
“My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord; In the morning I will direct it to You, And I will look up.” Psalms 5:3
Have you prayed today? We often become overwhelmed, stressed, or uncertain of what tomorrow holds, not just because we are facing problems. Everyone faces problems, but we often miss one key aspect: our Dependence on God.
King David understood this, and so did the Lord Jesus. During the day, the Lord Jesus was busy with many things: healing multitudes, teaching, and preparing for His own demise. However, at night, you often see in Scripture His moments on mountaintops and intimate conversations with God that sustained Him until the very end. These are our great examples. Do not let a day go by without talking to God. There is no schedule for prayer; it is a real conversation between you and God.
Let your first words be to Him in the morning, and throughout your day, find moments to pray. Practice this and see how the size of your adversaries begins to shrink before your great God.
May the God of the Bible bless you!
